The RoveMax Model XL3 is a huge rover wheel used for construction of land-based vehicles.
Usage
Due to its gigantic size which dwarfs even large-diameter parts and its sub-par performance compared to the smaller RoveMax Model M1, there are few legitimate reasons for using this part. One use-case where this part can come in handy are mobile launch platforms used to transport a whole rocket from the Kerbal Space Center to a different launch location on Kerbin.
Unlike the other wheels, the RoveMax Model XL3 is not articulated and uses skid steering to change heading, allowing a vehicle to rotate in place.
While active, the RoveMax Model XL3 wheel drains 2 electric charge per second (7200 E/hr).
Description
“ | The RoveMax Model 3 was developed in total secrecy by Kerbal Motion's R&D team over the course of a year and a half. When it was finally revealed to the company's chairman, he stared in shock, screamed 'WHY', and subsequently dropped dead on spot. — Kerbal Motion LCC |
