The Mk3 Passenger Module is a plane-styled crew cabin introduced in version 0.90.0. With a capacity of 16 Kerbals, it is the largest of all 3 habitation modules. It lacks command module functionality and requires another pod (other than the Hitchhiker Storage Container or MK2 Crew Cabin) or probe core in order to be controlled.

Usage

  • Transporting Kerbals to and from a space station
  • Crew quarters for spaceplanes and space shuttles
  • Holding rescued Kerbonauts
  • Transporting tourist Kerbals

Product description

At a capacity of 16 Kerbals, the Mk3 Passenger module is known in the Astronaut Complex breakrooms as the "Super Economy" class for spacetravel and allows only carry-on baggage. Any checked or emotional baggage may require one of the Mk3 Cargo Bays.

The inside, as seen in IVA from the back rows, resembles that of a liner airplane, with an aisle in the middle, four pairs of seats on each side, with carry-on baggage bays overhead, and doors on both ends (which are purely decorative). The module has two hatches to the outside (bottom and top); the top one is used as exit by kerbals going EVA. Both hatches have signs "Emergency use only".
