This lamp is useful for illuminating small areas over long distances, as in landers on other planets or moons. It is a kind of light and requires electricity to operate.
There is another lamp, the Illuminator Mk2, which generates a larger cone of light and uses less energy, but the light of the mk-1 is much stronger and reaches much further.
