The FM1 "Mite" Solid Fuel Booster is a very small solid rocket booster. It is about 2 meters in height and 1 live kerbal in width, with 40 solid fuel. It weighs .375 tons with fuel and .075 without, as the fuel weighs .3 tons. It has a thrust of about 11.01kN. Thrust can be regulated with tweakables. The name "Mite" clearly references its tiny size. The booster has a very simple design. It almost entirely white (including the nozzle), save a thin black line near the bottom. It burns for 49s with full fuel, and has a Thrust-To-Weight ratio on its own of 2.99.

The FM1 "Mite" Solid Fuel Booster is a very small solid rocket booster. It is about 2 meters in height and 1 live kerbal in width, with 40 solid fuel. It weighs 0.375 tons with fuel and 0.075 without, as the fuel weighs 0.3 tons.

Usage

As of current, few practical uses for the Mite have been utilized, besides providing solid rocket boosters or cheap upper stages to very, very small craft. It is not useful in new career saves either, as it isn't unlocked in the science tree before the player has more useful boosters anyway. It can be usable as a way to push disposable boosters away from a craft after they are decoupled, similar to the Sepratron I. Like most other solid rocket boosters, it can be used as an unreliable missile.

Product description

Solid fuel boosters come in a range of sizes and this one is distinctly on the low end of the scale. The Mite is still useful for many space programs that want a tiny kick motor to plant their probes firmly on the right trajectory, or just a bit more oomph to get their craft off the ground.
