The LT-5 Micro Landing Strut is the smallest and lightest landing leg, providing a low mass option for very small crewed spacecraft and probes.
Usage
This very lightweight landing strut can be extended with the G key just like the LT-1 and LT-2. Its impact resistance is lower than them, but not really as bad as the description implies (10 m/s vs. 12 m/s). It does, however, have the disadvantage that it extends almost straight downward and not in a 45° angle like the others. This means that your vessel will stand less stable and tip over a lot more easily when landing. So be even more careful that you land as vertical as possible and on even ground.
It doesn't extend very far, but far enough to protect an LV-909 or LV-1 under it, when you place them as low as possible.
Currently the landing legs are sink a bit into the terrain hiding the platforms on the end.[outdated]
