  1. 1.0 1.1 The mass and drag are from the part config, but the game handles it as physicsless.

The FTE-1 Drain Valve is the only drain valve in the game so far. It allows fuel to be released off into air/space. As of 1.9, it is massless and dragless, despite the CFG file values.

Product description

While trying to solve the initial issue with the FTX-1 series fuel line, an engineer at FLOOYD Dynamics had an ingenious thought - what if you failed to attach a fuel pipe at all? Solves the issue of making sure the fuel goes in the right direction, because it just goes out. He was demoted and assigned to book keeping duties, but later on, FLOOYD resurrected his idea in the form of the FTE-1 - a valve that will allow you to drain most resources from the part that it happens to be attached to, great for emergencies, floatation adjustment, or just fun rocket pranks.

Trivia

  • The drain valve produces thrust when draining, but the drain flow is so quick that it is still better to use an RCS thruster.
  • When first released, the drain valve could drain air from air intakes, allowing the creation of infinite range airplanes. This was fixed in 1.9.1 but a module manager config file could restore it as a mod.

Changes

1.9.1
