The Communotron 88-88 is an antenna, used to connect to CommNet and transmit science. It is deployable, and must be deployed before use.

It is the most advanced antenna, more powerful than the Communotron HG-55. It is the non-relay counterpart of the RA-100 Relay Antenna.

Product description

The Communotron 88-88 directional antenna allows for far more reliable communication at longer ranges than previous models. This is thanks in part to its patented parabolic folding design, which our research team maintains was not inspired by an umbrella.

Ionic Symphonic Protonic Electronics

Usage

The Communotron 88-88 is a deployable antenna, and is the antenna with the smallest transmission interval and highest total throughput. The Communotron 88-88 is deployed during science data transmission and retracted when transmission is complete.

The Communotron 88-88 has the greatest antenna power of any antenna. With a level 3 Tracking Station, it can communicate with Kerbin from any planet in the Kerbol system.

Like the Communotron 16, the 88-88 must be deployed before use. Once deployed, it can be broken by aero forces, and must be repaired by an Engineer. Transmitting science will automatically deploy the antenna.
