The Rockomax "Poodle" Liquid Engine, formerly designated LV-909 Liquid Fuel Engine (Large), is a size 2 (2.5 meter diameter) liquid fuel engine. It has a moderate thrust to weight ratio, offset by its relatively short height, high specific impulse and thrust, and wide gimbal range.

It performs very poorly in atmospheric conditions but it excels at vacuum operation. The intended role of this engine is as a power plant for large-diameter, upper stages of rockets for orbital insertions, transfers, and landings. In the past, it had been outperformed by LV-T30 Liquid Fuel Engines and clusters of LV-909 Liquid Fuel Engines, though this is no longer the case. The Poodle will not get you into orbit on its own, and once you are there it won't break any speed records, but it will get you from place to place in the cosmos while sipping fuel like a fine gentleman.

Product description

A more reasonable engine for rough economic times, the Poodle engine doubles as a BBQ when at low power.
