The Mk1 Lander Can is a Command Module housing one Kerbal crew member during its mission. It is designed for landing, and has a "down" looking window to facilitate such activities.

Usage

Inside panorama view on Kerbin

This is the smaller version of the Mk2 Lander-can which fits only a single Kerbal. Like the name suggests, it is useful for landers, because of the large window that allows a view to the outside and ground. The flat octagonal surfaces on the outside allow easy attachment of radial engines and/or landing gear. It is however very fragile, which makes landings after the potential loss of landing gear very risky. It also has the lowest mass of any command pod in the game and as such is useful in situations where a lot of delta v is required.

Description

This capsule was designed for lightweight non-atmospheric landers, and seats a single occupant. Features a novel full-body crumple-zone technology.
