The Rockomax "Skipper" Liquid Engine is used to provide thrust for medium sized rockets and middle stages. It is typically fueled by large diameter Liquid Fuel Tanks like the Rockomax X200-32 Fuel Tank and especially Rockomax Jumbo-64 Fuel Tank.

Usage

The Skipper is a large-diameter rocket engine which fills the gap between the Poodle and the Mainsail. It is about three times as powerful as the Poodle while in turn having a bit more than a third of the power of the Mainsail. Its fuel efficiency and mass are also in between these two. This makes it a good engine for intermediate stages of heavy lift rockets. This engine sometimes overheats.

While it previously offered inferior performance compared with clusters of LV-T30 Liquid Fuel Engine and LV-T45 Liquid Fuel Engine engines, this no longer the case.

Product description

The smaller sibling of the Mainsail, the Skipper's power rivals that of... large cities. Combining high thrust with reasonable efficiency, this engine excels when used as a mid-stage booster.
