The Mk3 Cockpit is a big and expensive space shuttle-style Command Module for a crew of four Kerbals. It is designed to have Mk3-sized parts attached to its back. It has the highest impact tolerance of any crew module in the game.
Usage
The Mk3 cockpit is generally found at the front of the spacecraft. In front, it has a small radial size attachment point, where RCS tanks, SAS modules and/or a nose cone are commonly attached. Its back has a Mk3 shape and size, making it useful for Mk3 Fuselages to be attached. This cockpit is a hardy one, greatly increases the chance of survival for its crew. It has no IVA, rendering this cockpit useless for IVA flights.
The properties of this cockpit fits for the great planes. Its reaction wheels fits for a big spaceplane (but not for a real giant). Its provision contains 500 unit of electric charge and 100 unit of monopropellant, enough for a experienced pilot to do the procedures of take off-docking-landing of the typical SSTO missions. For the longer journeys the craft should be equipped with extra batteries (and one as reserve) and generators.
The amount of the resources and their reserve-usable can be adjusted in VAB/SPH. Naturally, the reserve-usable stance scan be adjusted during the space flights too.
This cockpit has some tweakables:
- ToggleFlag - removes-adds the flag of the mission. (VAB/SPH only)
- Lights On/Lights Off - switches the cockpit internal light.
