使い方
BACCは主に大型多段ロケットの離陸推力を得るため一斉点火する第0段として利用される。点火すると燃焼終了まで一定の推力を生み出し続ける。It should be noted that more boosters doesn't reduce the need for liquid fuel, as one must also take into account thrust to weight ratios. In バージョン 0.23, the BACC has an on-pad specific impulse (or Isp) of 230 s, slightly better than that of the RT-10 Solid Fuel Booster and comparable to the least efficient liquid fuel engines. Its thrust and mass ratio are good enough to make it a popular choice on first stages.
